1) Halal holidays and Travel

Called ethical travel or muslim-friendly tourism, halal travel is a recently developed concept that allows Muslim tourists to enjoy holidays in full compliance with the principles of the Muslim religion.

Halal travel is not to be confused with religious travel, but suggests holiday destinations adapted to the needs of Muslims. There are several halal travel agencies.

Halal holidays became a way to enjoy a trip as a muslim and still stick to our principles.

The Private Tours offered by some muslim-friendly travel agencies is to enjoy a trip in a family friendly environment, to enjoy halal food, to have access to prayer areas or mosques nearby and in some cases to offer swimming pools or beaches reserved only for women.

In this article, we will tell you about the new phenomenon of halal travel, which allows Muslims to travel and enjoy their holidays while remaining faithful to their ethics and religious practice. Halal or “muslim friendly” travel is well established in today’s tourism, and one of the most popular destinations is Malaysia with its sumptuous mosques and paradisiacal islands.

There are several halal travel agencies.

 2) Halal trip: a booming market.

Indeed, for several years we have witnessed a real boom in halal tourism on the tourist market. Halal tourism is what is known in other words as Muslim ethnic travel, which describes a way of perceiving travel in Islam. This is why the Halal Hotel is appearing as well as holiday clubs that serve only Halal meat with a ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol.

Women are honored with direct access and reserved for spas, swimming pools and leisure areas in some hotels and in all seaside resorts; private beaches with an intimate setting and/or tanning areas.

Swimming in France with burkini rhymes with prohibition and prefectoral decree; thus everything becomes easier by choosing to travel elsewhere and in a simple way: Halal tourism emerges!

Travelling with the family is becoming easier, as families are very present and facilities and entertainment are reserved for children. Private mixed beaches are reserved for them, but with regulations for wearing clothing in accordance with Islam. The value and modesty of the Muslim are the essential points of this family framework. A halaltrip is not always easy to organize but there are few muslim travel agencies that could allow that.

Pray, meditate and worship your lord in isolation without the crowd and noise? This is not a problem because many places of prayer are present on the spot, mosque places of worship are present.

“Halal: lifestyle habits (food, drinks, behaviour) permitted by Islam. “The word “Halal”, often associated with people’s eating habits, is not limited to the latter but also affects the behaviour of Muslims. We rarely hear about halal travel. One of the best halal travel destinations remains Malaysia (see Blue Mosque Video, Kuala Lumpur)

HALAL MALAYSIA TRIP

Over the years, halal has become a real business in its own right, worth nearly 2300 billion dollars in 2013. This is something to do very beautifully, and the tourism institution has understood this well.

The countries that are leaders in this field are Asian: Malaysia, Indonesia, Bali, Muslims in search of halal travel compete for these heavenly destinations that perfectly match their expectations, they offer halal stays that meet a real expectation.

There is also Turkey, which is more affordable and has made a name for itself in Muslim tourism. There are several halal hotels, ready to offer services that could be described as Muslim travel and which also offer halal booking services that include hotel reservations up to private tour reservations and also excursions and trips between Muslim sisters. A website such as booking.com also offers you halal services but only if you check customer comments.

3) A new trend : halal travel

This raises the question of what the term halal travel, which is very popular at the moment, means in practice. A halal trip is a trip that corresponds to Muslim rules, involving behaviour that is respectful of Sharia law. Halal food, soft drinks, but also modesty and daily prayers are on the agenda. According to the hotels, every Muslim will therefore be able to eat without worrying about the contents of his plate with the assurance of having halal meat, have a prayer mat in his hotel room towards Mecca, and be protected from mixing if he so wishes.

Indeed, there are private beaches reserved exclusively for women, to swim in peace, but also private beaches reserved for men, to preserve their looks from other women in lighter clothes. But the non-mixing is not mandatory: family swimming pools will be available for everyone, so that the gentleman can enjoy fresh water and sunshine with the lady, and so that they can all have fun as a family – with their children if they have any – provided, of course, that they wear clothes that respect Muslim morals.

The halal or muslim friendly trip is:

– the guarantee to enjoy the hotel’s services in accordance with Muslim values,

– arrange an appointment at the airport with a designated person who will take care of your arrival (for example, for a group of women, the welcome will necessarily be made by a woman),

– enjoy hearing the member in the hotel

– be able to enjoy a prayer mat, rosary or Koran that is available in your room

– enjoy non-mixed swimming pools and slides when you are a woman

– perhaps even the opportunity to meet people who share your Muslim values and “lifestyle”.

4) Halal tourism is valued at $220 billion and is the most dynamic segment of the travel industry

HALAL TRAVEL or  ethical holiday

Singapore has created a fair where entrepreneurs and business leaders from all over the world meet and discuss current trends in Islamic markets. The halal travel industry is one of the major areas to be developed, it is the fastest growing travel market in the world. The current Muslim traveller has characteristics that these predecessors did not have. Indeed, he is younger, more educated, and has a higher income, which means that Muslim tourists opt for more varied and more distant destinations. The manager of CrescentRating, sniffed out this potentially important market, and its platform allows Muslim tour operators to explore the mode with complete peace of mind.

During his work-related travels, the manager realized that Muslim travellers were not clearly identified as an important and real segment, so their specific needs and unique requirements could not be clearly addressed. There was a lack of a strong supply of halal hotels, halal food and places available for worship. Thus, he wanted to make things happen, starting by first evaluating the halal hotel industry on a star scale according to the degree of muslim friendly. Currently, the offer is expanded, they train both hotels and companies in the halal market through workshops and accredited training programs. There is also the development of online training to broaden knowledge of halal. This guide is intended to be the reference for the evaluation of halal hotels.

The halal travel market is potentially estimated at $300 billion by the end of 2025. At 11% of global spending, which makes it a significant part of the industry’s most lucrative and dynamic market.

Halal tourism is a general term that encompasses a target population of Muslim travellers who travel for pleasure or work. The latter have needs that will be classified into different categories: halal food, information on prayer times and places, single-sex facilities, easily achievable ablutions… Not all Muslims have the same needs, some want all the criteria when comparatively others only want halal food. Thus there are degrees in the practice that go from strictly practicing to at least practicing.

You have seen the complexity of the halal market industry and its fragmentation. There is indeed a difference in the practice of the Muslim traveller from the Middle East and that of Asia or Europe for example.  It is an industry that is very complex indeed, there are needs that are based on faith and these can vary in an individual’s level of halal consciousness. And then there are needs that are related to other factors. At first sight, for example, the needs of Muslim travellers are the same during Ramadan but there are other more specific needs. It is on these needs that there is a real work to be done because it must be targeted and meet its characteristics and requirements. These are personal, individual needs related to religion. This is a painstaking task, as the halal market segment in Muslim travel is complex, requiring different stages with a deeper understanding of Muslim travellers’ behaviour and the market itself.

It even seems quite surprising that few people have looked at the subject, because it is a relatively new phenomenon. This is a phenomenon that believes at a spectacular rate, in 2000, there were 25 million international Muslims in 2000, in 2010, 100 million, in 2016 120 million. In 10 years, the market has increased fourfold. In addition, with the attacks of 11 November, these events had a real impact on Muslims and even in the halal market in this case.

The real prospect of this market is to make Muslims travel to any part of the world by meeting the real needs of each individual. Japan and South Korea have made great efforts to revive Muslim tourism, the Asian market has been a real leader in this field with Malaysia and Indonesia leading the market. Non-Muslim countries such as Switzerland and Jordan (Petra) are places that should also be visited for rich personal experiences.

5. HALAL BOOKINGS

Also agencies, travel sites and multiple travel companies are increasingly seeking to conquer Muslim travellers. A multitude of micro companies and START up are flourishing and trying to win the jackpot. A rental company in Orlando, Florida, for example, offers halal holiday homes in ABU DHABI with swimming pools with terraces and rooms where you can find prayer mats and Korans. The application of a British company lists the gourmet restaurants that serve halal meat in London and Dubai. Another one based in Boston offers travel guides including 90 cities with local prayer times and a compass to point the qibla.

Previously, the halal tourism market was considered a source of income limited to Islamic travel with an influx of Muslim travellers to Mecca. However, the current market is developing more and more to expand this halal tourism to meet the increasingly demanding Muslim travellers and travellers from all over the world.

Muslim travellers from Gulf countries spend the most on halal travel with an average of $10,000 per traveller spent per trip outside the Gulf. This population is a very demanding population and it can afford it all the more because it has the means to do so.

Even the United States is getting halal, Ritz- Carlton hotels in Dallas and New York serve halal meals on request and also offer private pool rentals and friendly muslims rooms.  There is a real boom in halal travel.

These halal hotels seek at all costs to meet the expectations of Muslims who demand unmixed, modesty, and a family environment within the hotel.  Curtains are also put up to respect the privacy of Muslim families who, for example, come to visit Disney Land parks or other family parks. It is well known that luxury hotels treat their guests like kings and reindeer. Many attentions are paid to them, small gifts of welcome, and outings, well ironed clothes, a really meticulous cleaning and the for the Muslim population therefore the respect of privacy…

The number of Muslims is growing daily, so the Muslim market is a growing sector that cannot be erased because Muslim travellers are constantly seeking renewal, escape and new experiences.

Turkey, a friendly muslim country par excellence, offers private beach rentals only for women and a structure has even been put in place to prevent people from flying on it. Discovery tours are organized to discover the Islamic tourist heritage and that of previous civilizations. Turkey has hosted twenty different civilizations. The most important discovery tour is the Ottoman heritage tour in Istanbul with a visit to the famous blue mosque.   Many halal hotels are present,

Malaysia, too, is in the process of conquering new travellers posing as a “Malaysia friend of Muslims”.

Some halal booking sites can filter destination searches according to several criteria, for example hotels that do not serve alcohol, halal hotels that offer halal meat permanently or on reservation.

Some Muslim travellers are really demanding on the entire “halality” of the trip and others are a little more permissive. Being able to choose the criteria that are essential to us or with your hand on all the criteria to best respect our ethics is a freedom that travel agencies and sites offer you today. Also this kind of freedom allows all Muslim travellers to be happy.

It is necessary to distinguish between two different concepts: the friendly halal object (halal hotel, halal restaurant…) and 100% halal holidays, the first is for example located for a short business trip, medical, it is suitable for the Muslim traveller… and the second is designed to offer a 100% halal holiday therefore for the Muslim holiday. Halal Gems is an application that lists gourmet halal meals in London and Dubai. In Dubai, the challenge is not to find halal food but to find the best gastronomic options or organized halal catering.  Other applications are available that list the prayer times of more than 90 cities around the world with the direction of the qibla as a bonus. From Amsterdam, Athens to Bangkok via Washington…

 6) HOTEL HALAL or ISLAMIC HOTEL

Halal bookings is more and more increasing hence muslim population expect muslim-friendly facilities when they travel.

Hotel Halal al Meroz

Halal travel or muslim-friendly travel is now very present on the Tourism market.  Indeed, there are countless online halal booking sites around the world and this concept is no longer to be presented.

From booking a halal hotel to a road trip, including an all-inclusive stay, seaside resorts, leisure areas, reserved tanning areas, excursions or booking villas with private swimming pools… Halal travel respects a unique rule: you travel Muslim while preserving the modesty and values of Islam.

The current flagship destination is undoubtedly Turkey. We are witnessing a real explosion in the Muslim halal hotel market. Indeed, some customers prefer an Islamic hotel in Turkey. This country has a very wide variety of destinations such as historical sites, archaeological areas but also many seaside resorts along the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea. The many cultures that the country has known throughout its history and the very favourable climate give Turkey a major advantage in tourism. More than 40 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in 2013, Turkey is the 6th largest destination in the world. Adhan in hotels, find prayer mats, Quran available, the direction of the qibla, prayer rooms dedicated to women and men are all promises that await you in Muslim hotels. Turkish halal hotels have seen their clientele increase threefold. The first hotel to offer an environment that complies with Islamic moral codes, Caprice Thermal Palace, opened its doors in Didim, near the Aegean Sea. This quiet little town of 3,500 inhabitants is now overrun by hotel complexes.

When travelling means discovering, being enthusiastic, resting while respecting Muslim ethics is the motto that halal tourism promises you.

More and more muslim-friendly hotels around the world are adapting to Muslims, how does that make a difference? How are these halal hotels very good tools to enable Muslim travellers to enjoy an unforgettable and excellent holiday? First of all, what you need to know is that this type of hotel is not exclusively intended for travellers of Muslim faiths. These are hotels that offer added value to their services. Thus they stand out from other types of hotels by offering services on the one hand to an average clientele that does not have specific criteria (mixed swimming pools for example) and a Muslim clientele that is emerging more and more and is concerned about respecting halal (halal food, single mixed swimming pools, no alcohol consumption). We have selected some of them for you.

The best halal hotel in Tunisia in Djerba

Djerba Orient hotel is run by a French expatriate who wanted to innovate a new concept. Indeed, Tunisia has always been a tourist country, but since the Arab spring, the country has become somewhat fragile and European tourism is in free fall. Thus, we are trying to conquer another type of population, Muslim tourists. In this halal hotel, there are two types of swimming pools, a mixed open-air and a covered one that is exclusively for women. Women can fully enjoy their holidays, halal food is served in the hotel, there is no alcohol service and everywhere around the island halal food is served in restaurants because the country is Muslim.

Dinar Lodge is a luxury hotel that offers multiple services to Muslim travellers. Services that may seem minimal or even secondary for some, but are essential to Muslim tourists. Arrows are drawn on the rooms to indicate the qibla of prayer, the crying call to prayer, from the mosque just in front of the sidewalk. You will be truly satisfied by tolerant owners with a heart of gold, who will all do their utmost to satisfy you discreetly and pamper you as if you were at home. Small negative point, there are no swimming pools but don’t worry, the beach is 500m away…

7) Muslim friendly holidays

You like attractions, thrills are for you an obvious fact and you don’t want to miss them. Relaxation, entertainment, good mood and adrenaline rush are on the agenda. A strong rush of adrenaline will give you amazing sensations! Activities and rides will take you to dizzying heights and challenge your sense of balance. The propulsion in the sky, with a view of magnificent landscapes, will be there. You don’t like the sensations in height, don’t worry about the sensations on land or in the water in large numbers will make you happy. A major disadvantage for Muslims would be where to pray? Outdoors? Or do his ablutions, in front of everyone?

The tulip country, the Netherlands, has developed another particularity to this kind of activities, a respect for the Muslim religion as well and yes it is possible.  A halal-friendly amusement park appears: Walibi Holland. Of course not all Walibi are muslims friendly but it is worth travelling to the Netherlands and as a bonus you will visit the country and can fill your eyes with multiple landscapes all exceptional one as the other. You can do your ablutions properly and go pray in a room dedicated to worship in complete tranquility. There is a holiday village where you can stay if you wish to stay for 2 days.

 8) HALAL HOLIDAYS: Mosque and Halal restaurant

One of the characteristics of halal travel is to allow Muslim travellers to have halal food available, to be able to taste the local specialities of each country without worrying about the presence of pigs or the question of slaughter, which is why this type of halal travel allows the consumer not to worry about his food from a religious point of view.

Another priority of the Muslim when travelling remains his practice of prayer and also to be able to do his ablutions. Here too, it is generally very easy to be able to do ablutions and pray in your room, but the demands of some travellers are growing, indeed some want to have the possibility to perform prayers in groups. This is why halal hotels generally offer prayer rooms to pray in groups as well as a space to do ablutions.

The same applies to Friday prayers. Some hotels are located next to mosques and therefore travellers are advised to use the nearest mosques to practice their prayers.

When customers are on a tour, for example, some travel operators allow Muslim travellers who wish to do so to take a break during the activity near a place of prayer in order to pray on time. Everything is coordinated in such a way that those who wish to do so can do their ablutions and prayers on time and also not have to worry about the halal food aspect.

9) Halal FAMILY holidays

Muslim family holidays

All-Inclusive Stay, Halal Hotel, Road-Trip, Halal Cruise,…

The offer is wide, so how can we not be wrong?

To answer this question, Halal booking sites offer offers adapted to the way you want to travel:

– Are you going with your family (Muslim family)?

The Halal Travel package that will be offered to you will certainly include an All-Inclusive stay in a family halal hotel whose facilities are adapted to everyone’s leisure activities: non-blended swimming pool, tanning areas reserved for men or women, children’s club, tailor-made excursions, etc.

– Are you going alone to discover the country?

Then opt for a Road-Trip across the country, made up of discoveries of all kinds and stops that will amaze you.

You can also decide to do nothing and enjoy a halal hotel complex that allows you to have fun whenever you feel like it.

– Are you women going out like women?

Here too, halal booking sites have thought of everything!

You can opt for a most secure stay between women with a care from the airport and those until your departure. A single point of contact to advise and assist you on site. And the little something extra? Relaxation and well-being packs to enjoy your holidays….

So, if you are also looking for a paradise destination like Malaysia or the Maldives, know that this is now possible and accessible.

Opt for a halal holiday and enjoy unforgettable moments that you will enjoy sharing with your family and friends.

10) Halal honeymoon

A novelty, in addition to Halal trips and cruises, we are now seeing the emergence of Halal honeymoons that allow newly married couples to go on their honeymoon in a setting that is conducive to their ethics and in accordance with their lifestyle.

It is common for married couples to fly to various destinations after the wedding and enjoy a romantic trip. However, for some Muslim couples, there is a psychological barrier that hinders them in this process since, according to them, travel means renouncing being oneself, having to renounce one’s religious practice, having to renounce eating meat during their journey and also having to frequent some places and hotels that are not very ethical from a religious point of view. The emergence of halal honeymoon is here today to guarantee a family travel environment, activities that do not go beyond the ethical framework, halal catering and also adapted prayer places. We can also add that some places allow women to have private spaces for swimming (private swimming pools for women) or other activities.

11) 5 halal destinations for a successful honeymoon

HALAL HONEYMOON

Couples generally want a destination, or they can enjoy it in complete privacy with a desire to rent private villas that are not totally isolated from the rest of the country with a desire to taste luxury and be able to enjoy all the activities that will be offered to them. Advertising on dream destinations is published from everywhere and it is generally difficult to make a choice on the price-quality ratio. The main question is the budget that will be allocated to the stay, why go into debt from the beginning of the two of us with pharaonic sums already spent in weddings and now on the honeymoon. It is essential in the life of the Muslim traveller to be able to start life together in another environment in order to get to know each other better and this is strongly recommended by Islam, you only know a person when you travel with them. A huge budget spent at one time could be used for several trips, for example, one for a honeymoon, one, one, one month later…

Many Muslim women want a single-sex resort and a private swimming pool for their honeymoons. The need for respected privacy is essential.  Find the halal destinations I chose for you for a successful exotic honeymoon, which does not break your wallet.

First of all Thailand, with its many beaches and resorts, halal hotels are not expensive and privatizing a swimming pool in a 5-star hotel is affordable.  An application is available to find halal restaurants, choice halal hotels, prayer places. The resorts of Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui and Hua Hin are among the most beautiful.

HALAL THAILAND TRAVEL

Indonesia, with its many landscapes, impressive beaches and cheap life, is a halal destination of choice. Many luxury halal hotels with affordable rates. Private villas where you can privatize swimming pools. Bali is a beautiful island with 4% of its population being Muslim. Many restaurants offer halal food.

HALAL BALI TRAVEL

Sri Lanka is a halal destination little known by Muslim travellers, located in the northern Maldives, has a tropical climate and very beautiful beaches but with lower prices than those offered in the Maldives. An excellent value for money with available seaside resorts, luxury villas, temples, do not miss Colombo which is the place to visit. Many halal catering options are available there.  Sri Lanka, faced with the rise and growth of halal tourism, is exploiting all its assets to compete with the other major Asian countries that have already taken the train.

halal trip SRI LANKA

The Philippines, a name that is not often heard when it comes to a Muslim travel destination. It has more than 7000 beautiful small islands, each one exotic. 11% of the population is Muslim so there are no problems in finding halal food and places to pray if you are outside. The Muslim population is welcoming and very cheerful.

halal philippines trip

Malaysia, or the best for the end, with a country so diversified, so beautiful, seaside resorts, private villas with swimming pools. Muslim country, where there are many places of prayer, life is affordable and airlines offer low coast tickets to this halal destination which will be a memorable trip.

12) Specialized Halal Travel Agencies

There are also halal travel agencies that offer an informative framework for travel with the acquisition of religious science in parallel with the fun side of travel. Combining the two during a Muslim stay would thus be possible. Other agencies also develop the idea of linking the small omra pilgrimage with a visit to another Muslim country. These new concepts are increasingly appealing to Muslim customers who are thirsty for knowledge and visits to new places and do not lose a moment to these new modes of halal travel. There are agencies that offer a wedding trip in accordance with Islam, a kind of halal wedding trip. It is now possible to enjoy a cheap halal holiday as several actors now offer this type of holiday for Muslims.

However, halal tourism or “Muslim travel” is not only a leisure tourism, it is also cultural. Thus, in recent years, there has been the emergence of a “halal site” that offers tours to “explore the ummah”, that is, to visit countries marked by an Islamic tradition, to meet people, and to foster among Muslims a sense of belonging to a community that transcends borders, a kind of Muslim ethical journey. The tours are organized in cities with traces of Islam, but also in China, Greece or Spain where the Muslim presence lasted 800 years (Andalusia).

The visits are scheduled and organized according to religious highlights, such as the five daily prayers, the Friday prayer or Ramadan. In Istanbul, visits to the most famous places of worship are organized at the time of prayers for tourism… while practicing your religion.

There are more than a billion Muslims in the world, which means that the growth of this new market is particularly promising and a major financial challenge for the tourism industry. That is why it is always a question of innovating, innovating new destinations, new concepts, new dreams for today’s Muslim. Indeed, muslim travel already represents more than 10% of world tourism and it grows by 4.8% each year (Crescentrating site).

This new concept of “Muslim travel” is increasingly being implemented in order to promote and enable halal and cheap travel, which is beneficial for a young and rapidly growing Muslim population.

13) ISLAM, TRAVEL AND DISCOVERY

Travel: It is a forced, forced, space travel to a more or less distant point for personal (e. g. tourism), professional (business) or other (war, political or climatic refugee) purposes, travel motivated by sporting or socio-cultural activities or major events. Travelling is taking the time to live in the present moment, to discover the unknown, the elsewhere and oneself… already Christopher Columbus in 1492 already had this vision of life. It seems that once inside, you can’t do without it! Travelling is a real addiction because travel is a very enriching experience which, if done with a good intention, can really enrich your vision of your own life.

Islam facilitates and encourages travel

In the life of a Muslim, travel is a necessity in the fulfilment of his religious duty: for the pilgrimage to Mecca, the visit of his family to his country, the instruction of our religion (studies) or simply the discovery of our beautiful planet. Especially since Islam makes travel easier, the Muslim traveller’s dou’tiens are accepted. All his blessings encourage us to discover the world.

The journey, Or how to mature

The journey teaches us a lot about ourselves. Too locked into our daily lives, confined to a safe environment, it is only when we leave this comfort zone that we discover more about ourselves; what we are able to do and what we are able to overcome. Learning to speak a language you’ve never spoken before, finding a halal restaurant, a halal hotel and places of worship…all reasons that can make us reluctant to take the initiative to travel… Major challenges… Travel helps us overcome our fear of the unknown, our anxiety, and simply helps us to grow. It allows us to face nature, to relive its essence and to fully experience its curiosity of discovery and immersion.

Halal travel to meet the Ummah from elsewhere

The best advantage of halal travel: to meet the Ummah across borders, in a Muslim or non-Muslim country. Certainly, Muslims today are everywhere in the world and therefore each have their own culture, which depends on the continent in which they are located. It is obviously very interesting to meet them and take an interest in their way of life, to practice their religion and also to understand their traditions and cultures. Muslim countries are rich in culture, history and friendliness. Multicultural countries master the art of living together. It is important to see and understand how Islam is represented in the world: Islam is today the first religion in the world, it is comforting and it allows to make an introspection of oneself, to see the place one occupies in this world and to know how curious one is to understand other cultures, Muslim or not, and also to distinguish in other cultures (Muslims) the religious aspect and the cultural aspect.

Islamic journey

We Muslims are the ones who carry the message of Islam. Islam represents perfection, so we must always carry the message of peace and our values. It is about being ourselves by sharing a smile, a story. Keep this in mind: the noble character marks the minds.

When we travel halal, especially in a non-Muslim country, we represent our religion and way of life (hijab, halal diet…). Let us convey the message of peace, of tolerance.

To be or not to be, that’s the question?

Travelling allows us to realize that we are not sufficiently grateful for what Allah has given us, for our minor problems in the face of poverty, wars and misery that the world is carrying,. The Muslim journey teaches us to put things into perspective and refocus on the essential. Let’s say stop at the superficial and this consumer society that constantly calls on us. The simplest things in life are the best.

To witness the beauty of the skies, seas, oceans and land

Halal travel is within everyone’s reach, all budgets, all means (plane, boat, halal cruise, on foot, by bike and yes it is fashionable at the moment… The destinations are many, the landscapes multiple and the beauties to discover pure, sincere and natural. The fauna and flora will amaze your children’s minds and you will really be the happiest of Muslim travellers.

Muslim youth and halal travel

halal travel egypt

Young Muslim travellers are choosing destinations such as Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Turkey the most, according to a study, in the coming years, spending on halal travel by young Muslims is expected to explode, with an average sector of $300 billion (estimated for 2026).the growing number of young Muslims in Indonesia, which has the largest Muslim population in the world, Egypt and Kazakhstan also travel more frequently.

Indeed, halal travel is increasing with airports, alcohol-free halal restaurants, halal hotels seeking to provide facilities and services adapted to Muslims with continuous innovation in this market.  Airlines such as Saudia Airlines, Mahan Air, Royal Brunei Airlines, Iran Air and Rayani Air offer halal meals on board and do not serve alcohol. Mosques and prayer rooms are nearby. Swimming pools and beaches reserved for women, family activities, Halal Spas (single-sex)….

The elderly seem to travel only once a year and in a family setting, while young Muslims aged 20 to 36 make several halal trips per year.

Halal travel among this younger generation of Muslims is booming as consumers have their standard of living changing (average 2 incomes), this young population is looking for new exotic destinations, new experiences and destinations and locations further away than those visited by their parents or previous generation. Young people are thirsty for new things, new horizons. Mixing religious convictions with discovery or holiday stays is an existential question.

Also two phenomena are observed, on the one hand, the expenditure per trip is lower than that of the previous generation but as young Muslims travel more frequently, the overall expenditure is higher.  On the other hand, in the coming years, many Muslims will enter a phase of consumption where they will earn more and therefore spend more and consequently travel more. And so travel halal more importantly. This is why Muslims are a prime target for the global tourism market. Most countries are trying to develop this share of the tourism market by focusing on halal travel for Muslims.  Economic growth is driving the mobilization of all tourism stakeholders who are constantly innovating, innovating to attract Muslim travellers who are more and more demanding.

Combine individual halal travel with humanitarian travel

I told you earlier that Ramadan after being a spiritual month is a month of sharing. Many marauds, meal sharing are done. I propose that you give of your time by helping the most deprived, those who need the other most, the elderly, the sick, the internees, the imprisoned. All these people who need to be reached out to him. A hand that for some people does not mean much, but that means a lot. They are given importance, an importance that even family members of these people sometimes do not offer them. Those beings who have stopped believing in hope, hope for a better world, a liberation for them.

Don’t pass by so many good deeds, do good and do good. Psychologically speaking, you will have the change of scenery linked to the halal trip on the one hand and on the other hand the reward for good deeds which will be double. A divine reward and a personal reward. Helping others is enjoyable and motivating.

Let’s visit a jewel of the Middle East: Oman

The ranking is staggering for this small country of Arabia of 2.5 million citizens, trapped between Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen in the west and Iran in the north: a zone of all dangers. At the beginning of January, the newspaper Le Monde ranked the Sultanate of Oman as the top destination to discover in 2017. The three main criteria for selecting a destination are culture, price and climate,

The Omani population is amazed, even though Vogue magazine had already recommended visiting the country, which has everything to please tourists. As the TripAdvisor 2016 barometer indicates, Oman has every chance. It is even an ideal destination in winter, with some 25 degrees until April-May (the temperature then rises to 50 degrees, due to the desert). The main argument in favour of the country is the peace, security and happiness of the Omani people and the 1.5 million expatriates who live there, including many Indians, North Africans and some Europeans.

Country of the Arabian Peninsula, Oman consists of a desert, oases in the bed of rivers and long coastlines on the Persian Gulf (or Arabian Gulf), the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The Wahiba Sands are a region of dunes inhabited by Bedouins. The port capital Muscat has the massive and contemporary Great Mosque of Sultan Qaboos, as well as the old town of Matrah, on the waterfront, the labyrinthine souk and the lively fish market.

A true country of a thousand and one nights, this country is absolutely worth a visit. Country muslim friendly you will not be disappointed.
